Other honduras pictures

We also did Maintenance work in a lot of the houses for the children. We put new screens in the windows to keep the flies out because there is no air condition. We did plumbing work as well.

To the Beach
This morning we got up at 7am and went to the beach. It was so hot and it wasn’t even 10am yet. We stayed there till about 9:30am and then went shopping at some shops near the beach. Then we went to an awesome resturant called Catch 228. It was so good.. You should so try it if you are ever down in St. Simons

Orphanage Emmanuel 2009
We didn’t have much internet at the Orphanage. So that’s why I didn’t get to update my blog much. This year we built playground equiptment, had pinata parties we also put up a swing set and a seesaw. With all that we did we still had enough time to love on all those amazing kids.
No commentsWe have arrived at Orphanage Emmanuel
We arrived in Honduras yesterday at 2 Georgia time (12 Honduras time). I believe everyone is well rested after last night’s sleep! Today we are headed to go work on getting the toddler playground up! I would post pictures but the internet signal stinks. Hopefully i will be able to post more, but the internet hasn’t really worked and we were told that all internet is down. They have also taken away the internet cafe. We are all very excited to be here. Even the new people too!

The Wedding

Anna and josh’s wedding went great on Saturday! I think that I was the busiest bridesmaid! lol! You can call me the singing bridesmaid. The top that we wore was so tight on me it sucked my stomach in and when I went to sing I felt like i was going to suffocate, but it went very well. This is a picture of Christian and I at the wedding reception!
It’s almost here!
Team Honduras is getting ready to go now! It is so close and Iam so excited! This will be my third trip, and this time I get to take Christian! (how exciting) We have lots of new people going this time and i think that it is awesome! We will be leaving June 4th and come back June 12. This time we are going to be putting in new playground equipment and I believe continue working on and digging the irrigation system. I am ready to see all my friends at Orphanage Emmanuel!
1 commentFLOOD!

Team Honduras was working on getting ready for the Chilli and Potato Lunch for tomorrow, when we noticed water coming out of the college classroom! How completely fabuolous it was! So we ran and got some towels to soak up some of the water.. but of course this was a losing battle. So with 2 shop-vacs and the 3 janitor mop buckets we were off to work cleaning up all the water.. Which of course again is a never ending battle. We started at 11am and didn’t finish until 3. And then we went back up there to clean up the mess that we made and it had gotten worse. So therefore i think that SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE ABOUT THOSE DARN DRAINS!
How confusing!

Well on Sunday of last week as everyone knows it snowed. It was so beautiful but then on Saturday of the same week it was hot outside and everyone was wearing shorts. I mean seriously how confusing.
